After our touch games every Tuesday night, the team and I occasionally head to a nearby food joint to fill our starving stomachs. Since we play at Fairfield now, our new after-touch-eat-up place is in West end! To be honest I have never experienced dining in West end, but I know for sure it's full of hipsters and good food! We decided to head to PJ's Steaks one night. I believe the place is influenced by American, Philadelphia style hot dogs and fries; which is now becoming a trend in Brisbane (about time we caught up).
It's a small joint, very cosy and artsy with all the vintage inspired photo frames covering their main wall! You'll find some quirky and funny pieces around the place which was entertaining while waiting in line. You also get to witness the glorious food in the making (the smell is sooooo good). The menu was overwhelming, and by that I mean there was just way too many mouth watering choices to choose from!! I ordered the mushroom cheese steak with the American fries which have this tangy spicy sauce with black beans and cheeese. The signature element of this joint is the cheese... yup, the cheese. You can choose what kind of cheese you want on any of the meals plus different kinds of Americany' sauces like buffalo sauce...making me so hungry right now.
The service was great; friendly and fast! My food came out within 10 minutes. Serving size was decent, I was able to share with my partner (and we were both quite full too). Price wise, it was average - I paid about $20 for the meal with a drink. You can also sit inside and outside which is awesome for us since we bring our puppy Tatum to the games. Ok so i'll get into the food part of it all. One word, YUM. It was different, tasty and filling. Ticks everything on my good food list! The fries were probably my favourite with the sauces they provided. I covered mine in buffalo wing sauce of course. On your table you'll have a tray of different sauces you can freely soak your food with. Bread was soft, steak was tender and the cheese was oozing out of it all (talk about a heart attack). Overall a great place to hang with a group of friends, a friend, a partner, family and even by yourself :)
Last thing, parking! Not too bad I must say for a busy area, there's heaps of street parking and car parks around. PJ's Steaks is located in West end 173 Boundary Street.

Oh and, hello from Tatum! :)
Go on a food adventure! Live life!
